I'm in search of a new school for Kpuff, she's not due to start primary school for another 2 years or so, but most of the good schools are quite competitive (I mean they interview the kids and all...lol). On the shortlist are Grange and St. Saviours Ebute Metta. I prefer St. Saviours but meeeen that commute won't be easy since we live in Ikeja. I spent the last two days collecting one admission form or the other from them it wasn't fun. She may have her interview with them on Thursday, I can't even imagine how that will go, let's hope it's a 'good' kpuff day, cause if they catch her on a bad day...we certainly will have no choice but to scratch them off our list...lol. Does anyone have any other mainland school recommendations? Thoughts on Corona Gbagada? Chrisland? (I haven't heard any rave reviews about either in the last few years).

Part of the reason I stayed away from blogging for so long was that a lot was (and still is) going on in my life that I didn't want to share just yet. For one, Mr. is completely out of the picture except where it concerns Kpuff and I'm quite fine with that. It's sad though I hear about so many separated and/or distressed couples these days. What are we all doing wrong?

When it comes to searching for the school, visit with kpuff and see how much she likes it........talk to the heads of schools and teachers, take notes, it should be fun :) Like get a feel for the enviroment, Let them know you're coming though.......i went to Corona so im pretty biased.......and i find Grange kids rather namby-pamby ........lol......

as to distressed couples.......when you know...na beg i beg let me know.....

all the best !!!

Corona Gbagada was very good when I went there. I don't know how things are nowadays though. I don't think things should have changed much. Corona will always be Corona. No matter where it is. I even had some friends in my class that their parents went to Corona Gbagada as well! So they stay competitive!

As for Mr. all I can say about that is that it is what it is...I just want you and Kpuff to be happy!!!

Hugs and Kisses!!!

As long as you're fine and well and Kpuff is too....I think that's all that matters

I don't think anyone can ever answer that question, everybody knows and yet nobody really knows

I went to both Corona and Chrisland, both excellent schools if you ask me.....Have you visited any? Are there anyones that stand out?

I wish you well

Hugs

@sweetandsensible :)...thanks dear, knowing kpuff whichever is most colourful is where she would want to go..lol...namby-pamby?...that's a new one..lol

@kemberly...what's up with you corona kids everywhere? it's like a damn cult..lol

@zena...Thanks :) I guess I'll visit both myself and see. Honestly, none really stood out, all their grounds were well kept like expected....no red flags anywhere.

my boys are in St Saviours Ebute Metta. I think you should go for it. The eldest has a class mates that come in from Allen in Ikeja everyday. I'm sure you will fine some ppl you can carpool with sooner or later.
We tried to get into Grange passed the exams and interviews but then you had to coem in from a feeder nursery school and give a list of people you know in the school. BS.

St Saviour now as a new head teacher who is raring to go. I think you will be making a good choice if you let her come there.
Take care

Ebute Metta!
I went there and I turned out quite nicely. A nice balance of well off and normal people. Some of the ppl I know that went to them grange, greenwood house, corona, crisland could have used a dose of st. saviours. ithas also been around for eons so im pretty sure its still good

my brother went to greenwood house, crisland and st. saviours and the kids and educationa i saw at the first two left much to be desired sha.

they interview kids for st saviours now?

sorry im posting so much, but do NOT go to Grange. so much bad influence, its like kids from there have no morals - this is my own personal anecdote o but i stand by it

educationally sef i dont even think they are up to par

i DON'T advise grange... the morals they impart to the kids are not the best.
Stick with corona and St. Saviours (went to Corona VI & Ikoyi)

like previous posts have said,DO NOT STICK with GRANGE!!its made up of a bunch of over-anglophiled spoiled kids with VERY poor sense of values!!St saviours is good,so is corona, greensprings too is very recommended and so is grace children school gbagada-its a very old primary school, since 1968,with EXCELLENT facilities and a great ambience..its actually the best underrated/underhyped primary sch in lagos(trust me)!Well goodluck

I am trying to make a decision between Avi Cenna and St. Saviours Ebute Meta for my 4year old and his little sister. I live in Surulere and even though St. Saviours is closer I don't know so much about it and how does it compare to Avi Cenna in terms of Standard of Education, the curriculum and Extra curricular activities. Please would love to hear from parents with kids in either schools or aunties, uncles, teachers, former teachers etc. Thank you. @9jamommy thanks for this thread, wish I found it sooner
