Sunday March 25th, 2007 around 11 p.m.

Me: What's that sound?
Mr: Nothing, probably kpuff kpuff
Me: Ok
(few seconds later...even louder rustling of a plastic bag)
Me: No babes something's in this room put on the light
Mr: (puts on light)
Me: Oh shit!!! it's a rat!! did you see it?!!!
Me: (runs out of room screaming, leaves kpuff kpuff behind - every man and baby for himself {don't worry she has a net over her crib so it couldn't have gotten in}...lol)
Mr: where is it?! where is it?!
Me: it ran under the chair!! shut the door!! shut the door! kill it!!! and 3 million other instructions...lol
Me: (standing on chair in leaving room, listening.., my cousin goes in to help him)
Mr: (loud banging sounds coming from room)

Few minutes later Mr. emerges with the dead rat (my knight in shining armour....lol) :) (Kpuff kpuff actually slept through all this...lol).

Moral of the story no food in the bedrooms, these Nigerian rats don't play.

LOL..I can't stop laughing...u are just like my mum....
My mum would just be shouting and jumping on chairs like the rat is going to come and eat you or something...

Good to know the rodent got caught though.

Lol! Ah, pele oh! If your hubby hadn't gotten to it, I would have sent TK to take care of that rat for you. Thankfully your daughter slept through it.

We have a mouse running through our wall over here. Can I get my husband to take care of it? Not yet! The thing does not bother him at all so I allowed the mouse to bite into his bag of cereal. You would think that would make a difference - NOT!

@solomonsydelle..lol...at letting the rat bite through his cereal, reminds me of Lynette in desperate housewives..You're trying o! biko call an exterminator if hubby doesn't want to take care of it (I don't blame him though those things are scary, I was actually surprised Mr. took care of ours cause normally he's a poser...lol)

LMAO!!

Your Mister is a hero. My mister would probably've left me to do the rat-killing. Okay I'm being unfair, but I'll let you know what happens the day we see a rat.

I have to ask.. how do you feel about cockroaches. Because them suckers can creep up in your bed and give you a good night kiss... follow you to work and all that.

Whenever I travel home, I stay with relatives. And I always lose hours of sleep just fretting over who's coming to give me a good night kiss. The rat or the cockroach. lol. I'm a sad case.

Anyways hmmm... did you analyze the catch to see if it was a baby or grown rat? Because if it was a baby... hmm.....you may have unknown tenants.

lollllllllll. Kai i even miss naija even more...good ole rats...
You know when i was back home in December and Nepa took light...i squealed in delight...it was an amazing thing for me. When i saw good ole AGAMA LIZARD...i was like "GAMMY HOME BOYYYYY!!! Long time no see..."

Aaaaaaaaaaah...rats are better than paying bills 24 7.

Yes i was at your house on Christmas day...can you imagine? And i dont even think i met you or got introduced to you. I know i got introduced to your younger sister who is Dayo B's friend...

This christmas, no worry...

Funny but those rats are no joke. Those squeaking sounds give you nightmares! We had a rat problem in the past and whenever I heard those noises I would stiffen in fright. Then I realise the power of them teeth and the fact that Nigerian rats eat THROUGH anything that is not metal. The rats had eaten their way into a tough travelling bag to find and finish biscuits. Then I as Uzo said, one actually stared me down. I was lying down and turned and there we were, face to face until it scurried off. Fortunately, my husband dealt with them, killing them and laughed at me but then I was pregnant and didn't find them rats funny one bit. Can't stand them! And I am all for having the house sprayed regularly to get prevent them from sharing residence with us.

Glad your daughter slept like a log through it all.

@bitchy...lol...he just might surprise you

@ladybug...I don't think i'll have been able to sleep in that room knowing there was a rat, so it was his choice to sleep alone in there :)

@mama bomboy...I don't like any creepy crawly things, but definitely a roach any day than a rat, at least they are quiet. I know what you mean abou them following you everywhere though...lol. Luckily, it was full grown rat (or a big ass baby), that thing looked like it couldn't have taken me down any day..lol

@bobby...lol..you're not serious, LMAO at 'Gammy Home Boy'. I think I will rather pay the bills than deal with rats..lol...Yeah it was my cousin you met, it's crazy that I didn't actually meet you. You should have come outside to do cha cha slide with us..(I know I'm an agbaya..lol) :)

@LM...Daaaaamn at the rats finishing biscuits in a travelling bag, that's just gangsta. Lol...at one actually staring you down, I can only imagine...

You actually jumped on a chair?!?!?! Hilarious!! Makes me remember a joke we used to pass around in university:

Ajea Butter 1 went to visit Ajea Butter 2 and both were in the room.
Cockroach waddles into the room and Ajea Butter 2 starts screaming "Roach, Roach, Roach!!"

Ajea Butter 1 looks at Ajea Butter 2 and says in her mind eh hen? You're doing butter for me huh. OK let me display my own at least you have seen the pest before and can identify so it is known to you. I now have to pretend I have never seen the pest before and I'm more of an Ajea than you.

So Ajea Butter 1 jumps on Ajea Butter 2's bed screaming also:
"Does it bite? Does it bite? Does it bite?" LOL!!
